Spring Break 2011

Ok so I haven't posted on here since Payton was born. I had good intentions of posting everything about our baby girl on here but it didn't happen. I did however post alot on Facebook. I have recently started searching blogs and looking for crafts and things to do with Payton. And I got an itching to start posting things on my own blog so here it goes.

First of all our Spring Break started with cleaning out the garage and trying to get the entire house cleaned so we could put it on the market to sale. We are building a new house and it is coming along good. I'm sad to to be selling our house, but extremely excited about building a new one!!

On Saturday, the first official day of Spring Break, we took a trip to the Sandhills with some friends! It was Payton's first time and she really enjoyed it!

On Sunday Chris was home and we decided to get out the little Camaro Payton got for Christmas and see if she could drive it now. She was unable to do so when she got it. She did really good and was actually able to reach the pedal and drive it some!! So exciting!!

The rest of the week was busy. We got our house on the market and had several showings right away. But on Thursday it finally slowed down again and Payton and I had a fun day! First we painted with bubble paint in the bathtub! Heres how we made it:

You mix 1 cup of bubble bath clear in color) with 4 TBSP of cornstarch. Then divide it into small containers. We did 5. Add a couple drops of food coloring to each. Be careful not too add to much so it won't stain. Then the fun may begin!!

While Payton was down for nap I made some Kool Aid playdough. Here is the recipe:

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup salt
1 pkg. Kool-Aid Unsweetened Drink Mix, any flavor
1 TBSP Cream of Tartar
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 TBSP oil

Mix the first 4 ingredients together in a large bowl. Add boiling water and oil. Stir 3 to 4 min, or until cooled, then mix with hands until well blended.

Place on was paper; knead until no longer sticky, adding additional flour 1 tsp. at a time if necessary.

Store in air tight container in refrigerator.

Repeat above process for each color of kool-aid play dough you want to make.

Well thats all for now! As you can tell we are enjoing our Spring Break! I don't want it to end!! Oh well only a couple more months until Summer is here and we get to meet our little Bryson James!

Payton Grace Hall

So this past weekend was a roller coaster of events! It all started on Thursday. I had an appointment with Dr. McQuillin to have a sonogram done of the baby to check if she was head down and do a BPP, which checks the amniotic fliud around the baby. The results of the BPP was 3.85 and it needed to be at least a 5. Therefore, Dr. McQuillin decided it was time to induce and get the baby out. She sent me immediately from her office to the hospital to get checked in. I had been joking with my mom telling her i wanted to be induced because I was ready to see Payton, but little did I know it would really happen so soon. I was only 36.6 weeks and still had a little over 3 weeks until my due date. Luckily my mom had went to the appointment with me, because Chris was out on a job working. I could not get ahold of Chris at first to let him know what was going on because he wasn't getting any service. The secretary finally got ahold of him and he headed home to get my bag and everything I needed for the hospital since I was so not prepared. Chris arrived and finally around 2:00 the inserted the first dose of cytotech to begin softening my cervix and dilating. The gave me a dose every 4 hours throughout the rest of the day and night. At about 6:00 in the morning my water broke on its own, but I was still not dilated at all. They checked me again around 8:00 and I was finally dilated a fingertip (still not 1 cm). They could not give me pitocin to further the labor until I dilated to 1 cm. The checked me again around 11 and I was still the same. Dr. McQuillin came in and said that once your water brakes you typically dilate 1 cm an hour, but yet my water had been broke nearly 5 hours and still I wasn't even to 1 cm. We finally decided to go for a c-section. And around 12:45 they wheeled me to the OR and began my c-section. At 1:14 p.m. on August 7th, Payton Grace Hall arrived weighing in at 6 pounds 2.8 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long! She was having difficulaty breathing so I did not get to see her long in the OR until the took her back to the nursery. They put her in an oxygen tank. Finally around 5:00 p.m. they said she was off oxygen but still breathing fast, and therefore could not come to the room. Chris and I finally got to go done to the nursery that evening and visit her, but still could not hold her. She had to spend the night in the nursery. The next morning the pediatrician came in and told us that her chest xray showed an enlarged heart and they could hear a murmur. We finally insisted on hold her, so they let Chris and I go down to the nursery and hold her for a little while! They called in a Pediatric Cardiologists to come and check Payton out. They found a small hole in her heart but believed she would grow out of it on her own and would not need treatment. Finally that afternoon she get to come to our room!!! I got to breastfeed her for the first and it was amazing! She spent the whole night in our room! Anyways, we had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights, because Payton was receiving IV antibiotics. We finally got home yesterday around 12. And it has been nice to finally be home!!! We are enjoying every minute of being parents!! Here are a few picture of our new daughter, Payton Grace Hall!

3D Ultrasound

Ok, so I haven't posted in awhile. I just wanted to post the latest picture of our beautiful baby girl, even though you can't see much. It was awesome being able to actually see her facial features! I have been feeling her move more and more lately. It is such an awesome feeling. I don't even know how to explain it! I try to get Chris to put his hand on my belly to feel her move and almost every time she stops moving about the time he gets his hand there. Chris laughs and says that's a sign that Payton is going to be calm with him. I am 25 weeks right now and finally starting to look pregnant. For so long I wasn't even showing. People are finally starting to notice I am pregnant without me having to tell them. I had a lady in church come up to me and say, "You finally look pregnant!" She said she had been watching my belly and thinking that I was not even showing. In a way I am glad I am showing now, but am dreading being big and pregnant over the hot summer! So I went to my dr. appt today and gained 3 pounds. I was hoping only to gain 2, but I guess it's ok. I have only gained 10 pounds total. I have been trying so hard to be healthy and not gain much weight! I walk 3 miles every day. The baby is still breech, which has me worried a little. I really don't want to have a C-section. But my dr. assures me there is still plenty of time for her to turn, so I am still praying! Well I guess that is all for now and hopefully I will remember to update this more often!

ITS A GIRL!!!

So the results are in! It is a GIRL!!! We are so excited. We both wanted a girl, but would have taken whatever we got! At first she wouldn't open her legs so they had to get her to move and she finally revealed her parts! I also got good news from Dr. Blanco. He said I no longer need to come back to him. He said everything is formed right and as far as they can tell there are no defects. My placenta was low line the first time I went and they also said that is was no longer low. One less dr. I have to go to! I will just continue going to my regular OB, Dr. McQuillin.

Staying at Home!

Well I went to talk to the hospital here in Monahans yesterday. I worked there for about 2 weeks before I failed my test the first time. I could no longer work until I passed my test. They were supposed to hold my job for me. But they told me that there were no more day positions left, but they would love to have me work nights. I don't think working nights will be good on my body, especially being pregnant with MS. So, my husband and I decided that it would be best if I just stayed at home until after the baby comes. I'm actually kinda excited about it though, because now I will have lots of time to decorate the baby room and get everything ready.

I PASSED!!!!

Well the long awaited results are in!! I passed my NCLEX!! I am now J Hall, RN!! I took my test on wednesday and got all 265 questions. It took me 5 hours and 15 minutes, the longest test I have ever taken. I had to stop occasionally and tell myself, "Jordan you can do this, don't give up." I know that God was there with me helping me along!! I appreciate all the support and prayers I have gotten from family and friends! So today after I got my results I decided it was time to clean out the nursing school stuff. I threw away 3 trash bags full of notes, notebooks, folder, spirals! It felt so good to get rid of all of it! I then cleaned out my closets! I have clothes and shoes in all 3 closets in my house! I am cleaning out the computer room to get ready for the baby! Let me say this again I am so relieved to have passed my test, now I feel like I can get stuff done and not have to have my nose stuck in a book studying all day long!!!

It's a Boy...well maybe...

Ok so this morning I took this test that I had read about in my magazine. It's called intelligender. You can go to intelligender.com to read more about it. It tests the pH in your urine. If it is high and turns green it's a boy and if it's low and turns orange it's a girl. On their website it says it's 82% accurate but on other sites they are saying it is not really that accurate. I don't really see how the ph of your urine can tell whether its a boy or girl. But it was only $29.99, so I decided what the heck it's worth a try. So mine turned green like right away saying that I'm having a boy. I was a little disappointed at first even though I know it may not be accurate. I really wanted a girl. I found out what I'm having from the doctor on April 8. I guess this test helped me to be more open minded that I may be having a boy. I'm just excited to be having a baby and am now realizing that a boy or girl either one is still very exciting!!!
